SAN FELICE DEL BENACO, ITALY — October 17, 2025. The shores of Lake Garda provided the setting as representatives of Georgia’s Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce met with Italian colleagues for a day devoted to scientific outreach and cultural appreciation.
The visit, coordinated by MAGI Group and MAGISNAT — founded by physician-researcher Dr. Matteo Bertelli — centered on how research institutions communicate with communities and businesses. At the MAGI Biomedical Research Center, Italian scientists outlined projects in genomics, preventive health, and nutraceutical research, offering snapshots of methodologies, quality standards, and clinical translation pathways.
Leading the delegation, Gwinnett Chamber President & CEO Nick Masino underscored the value of face-to-face exchanges for building understanding. San Felice’s Mayor Marzia Manovali greeted the group, pointing to the town’s mix of heritage industries and small-scale innovation as a model for sustainable local development.
To place the scientific conversations in context, the itinerary included a guided visit to the Rocca di Manerba del Garda archaeological site and museum with Dr. Simone Don, Councilor Raffaella Bertini, and Dr. Carla Ghidinelli. The tour spanned prehistoric, Roman, and medieval layers, framing present-day collaboration within a longer historical arc.
