Rafeed Elahi Chowdhury, the Bangladeshi writer from Vancouver, is set to launch several of his works this December. Known for crafting romance with a soul-stirring depth, he is now set to surprise his readers with a bold leap into new genres in his upcoming works. Fayez Just Became a Father is one of his most anticipated works, as he’s trying out a very different genre than the ones he usually does. It’s set to be released on December 10 worldwide, including a release in Bangladesh.
About him delivering a number of projects in the upcoming days and the hype for this book specifically, Rafeed has said – “This is my December. This novel, along with the other projects coming up this December, reflects an immense level of exploration and personal growth. They are not just stories but portions of a broader narrative. At the end of the day, it’s about pushing boundaries and flowing with the unexpected in art and life.”
Fayez Just Became a Father is full of pressing social issues – from the effects of toxic parenting and corruption, to the dark world of human trafficking, abusive marriages, and abandoned illegitimate children. In this, Rafeed showcases his aptitude for blending serious societal themes with humor, a first in his literary career.
“I could have just written another romantic story, since that is my forte. But if I don’t try new things out, I’ll never know about the places I can explore. This story is sensitive and a bit bizarre, considering that not everyone’s sense of humor is the same. One thing I can guarantee is that it’ll be a story to remember,” Rafeed shared, reflecting on these bold narrative choices.
Regarding his future work, he has further mentioned, “I will slow down a bit for some time because I will do very little work in the upcoming year. But those few works will require much development, which will be my focus.”
Fayez Just Became a Father will be available online in ebook, paperback, and hardcover formats.
